About us

Our story started in 1995 when Dr Auvo Finne founded the company to support Information and  Communication Technology (ICT) projects in Finland. The first ICT projects were related to Finland's population registry using Oracle database and development of a Resource Management System called eSynergy. The current official name The Synergy Company Finland, was registered in 2004, and Synergy Company International in 2020.

First international consultation projects started in Africa (Mozambique, Tanzania and Zanzibar) in 2005 and  later expanded to Asia (Bangladesh). These projects were large collaboration projects with stakeholders from the private sector,  governmental sector and educational sector (often described as triple helix model). The focus shifted furthermore into Asia with assignments in Thailand and Uzbekistan. The consultation has covered multiple business sectors, among them education, land administration, health, wellness, and finance. The main project funding organizations include World Bank, EU, Asian Development Bank and Finnish Government. The assignments range from national system architectures to full-stack software development, data science and business analytics.

In the 2020's Synergy Companies have been expanding the consultancy to cover international market entry, expecially to Sourtheast Asia, and sustainability engineering. The goal is to catalyse new business for the Finnish enterprises in SEA with Thailand as a strategic stepping stone. Our focus is primarily on industries of the digital economy, healthcare, education and smart cities. Engagement with the sustainabilty engineering has has started with providing related IT services to Finnish startups that work on corporate sustainable growth, ESRS, EUDR and carbon credit trading.
